To those who think that these contests are random. My husband and I have saved up for the big entries and have won very little in the almost 4 years that Rogers has gone to the point system. Unless they provide a webcam for the big draws they can simply if they choose throw away a name that the computer picks (such as a known blogger or someone they don't like). Also of note is that when a prize is geared more for a male or female 90% of the time the appropriate gender wins the prize. This is not random drawing folks. When CFRA does big prize draws they have a webcam or witnesses around. When Rogers does draws they have already taken place of air. Have they ever mentioned who actually pulls the winning name out of the computer. To my knowledge I have never heard them explain the process of how a winning name is picked and who does it.
@ Webkinz - It's probably an issue that should be pursued with the promo people of the stations. The mechanics behind these draws would be interesting to know and should be made transparent. Four years is definitely a long time to go without winning anything substantial (e.g., more than $100 by my arbitrary definition). And since your husband is playing too, that's equivalent to 8 years for a single person!
