Not all tickets are available during a pre-sale. When Fleetwood Mac came last year, the "cheap" tickets weren't available at 10am but were available in the evening or the 2nd day of the pre-sale.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any tickets at first because $200 x 2 is a little too steep for me. I clicked the wrong spot at first and by the time I backtracked and clicked the cheaper ticket entry, it automatically went to the $200 tickets again.
However, CHEZ just announced a few minutes ago that another block was released so I rushed back and was able to get a couple of the cheapo tickets (two $55 tickets cost $142! ... damn fees!). Congrats on getting some decent tickets!

I had to call Capital Tickets this morning to "upgrade" my July 15th ticket for Bluesfest (I have the full pass) so I can see Rosanne Cash and Alejandro Escovedo. The upgrade is $5/ticket; the fee for the order is $3.50.
Agreed, $200/ticket is too much for one artist.

A few years ago Bluesfest added 2 extra days after the passes had gone on sale and charged $25 to people who already had tickets if they wanted to see Van Morrison (a fair price considering he's charging about $200 now and is an iffy performer; if he doesn't want to be on stage, the audience knows it). My guess is that in this case the extra fee is for the venue (indoors, reserved seats - have I mentioned that I got front row?!) rather than the performers. But I could be wrong. It happens occasionally.

Thanks for the extra information. However, I think you would be within your rights to complain. Geez, you spend all that money for a total Bluesfest pass and get nickel and dimed afterwards!
Mr. Red pointed some readers here to become volunteers. My wife and I decided that this was a good approach, as we could see all concerts in barter exchange for our time. We will probably end up seeing numerous concerts that we could not afford otherwise. Thanks again, Mr. Red.

The volunteer experience is great (I did it once and still have the t-shirt) but my friend and I would only want to volunteer at times we didn't want to see any artists. And the nights we don't want to see anybody we want to take a break from being at the festival.

Agreed about volunteering -- that's why we selected food duty for early timeslots on the first 6 days. We won't miss a single act because of this. I'm still not sure why you had to pay extra but hey, if you got great seats as a part of this, it was certainly worth it for only $5 more!

Bonus comment: If you're going with a friend (meaning that the money for the second ticket is not coming out of your pocket), this gives you some latitude as well! If you "have to" take a family member along (eg, wife!) this always doubles the cost!!!

From what I heard today on KISS, supposedly the teams will be off in all different directions and may not even run into one another after the starting point due to the technology being employed. The diamond ring is supposedly worth $15K! (so maybe it is worth $5K if you wanted to sell it on the spot). It still should be quite fun for all involved.
